Following the release of “Coyotes Comin’,” Kansas City, Missouri based Progressive Space Doom trio Low Forest drops a brand new single, called “Retroburn.” Stream the track through the Spotify player below:
Kansas City’s Low Forest incorporates aspects of Space Rock, Post Rock, Doom and Progressive genres into a recognizable but distinct sound. Singer/guitarist Josh King’s clean vocals and layered guitars bridge the styles of Hum, Failure and Cave In to create an accessible aesthetic that is equal parts Space and Rock. Accompanying him are bassist Alex Dunn and drummer Keith Howell, as well as a remote recording team of Halston Rossi (drums) and Brad Schumacher (synth).
Their 2023 debut Rock LP “Entrovert” was recorded remotely in the band’s home studios and mastered by Zac Montez (Cloakroom, Nothing) at Time Well Recordings in Chicago, IL. Concurrently the band also released the accompanying “Space” instrumental LP “Ambivector.” These two albums sync up and create an immersive “Space-Rock” experience when played together simultaneously.
Their latest singles “Retroburn” and “Coyotes Comin’” were mixed by Paul Malinowski (Shiner) at Massive Sound in Shawnee, KS and mastered by Mario Quintero (Spotlights, Pallbearer) at AudioMQ in Pittsburgh, PA.
Both singles are available now for streaming on all major digital platforms
