Source present “Stimulus,” the first single offering from the forthcoming 5th studio album. Rooted sonically in heavy Psychedelic Prog Rock and thematically in introspection, “Stimulus” brings intensity, electronics and an industrial touch.
Lyrically, “‘Stimulus’ speaks to experiencing symptoms of ADHD and Autism. It tells the story of a stimulus addicted brain that struggles with stillness.” The band explain. “[‘Stimulus’] also speaks largely to post-tour depression. Touring is such a constant, stimulating, exciting, terrifying, inspiring experience compared to regular life at home. This song tells the story of learning to go on tour and come back home while appreciating every aspect of the journey.”
On the sound and arrangement of “Stimulus,” Source shares:
“It starts with fat, crunchy electronic percussion with a flavor of NIN industrial sounds which transition flawlessly into the opening chorus with a killer fill on drum kit. This is the first time in any Source song that we’ve started with a chorus. We wanted the song to fit a more traditional arrangement format while always progressing and being stimulating.”
Musically, “Stimulus” carries movement and energy alongside a distinctly textural arrangement of instrumental and electronic layers. From Psychedelic granular vocal delays and Electronic percussion to metallic glitches and an enticing Melodic bass line, the track consistently introduces and develops moments of interest.

— About Source —
Based out of Boulder, Colorado, Source was originally formed in 2014 by Benjamin Gleason, Dan Crisafulli, and Georges Bou Serhal. With founding member Benjamin Gleason now joined by Justin Mirarack on drums and percussion and Pascal Faurie on bass, the trio craft immersive music inspired by their own introspection and transformative practices.
While Source explore self awareness, healing and personal evolution through their lyrics, musically they situate themselves in the realms of Heavy Psychedelic Prog Rock. Instrumental layers, powerful and emotive harmonies and a wide range of dynamics leads to a sound that is melodic with an enveloping feel.
The band’s first album “Return To Nothing” released in 2016 via Pavement Entertainment and that same year saw the band embark on the Forged in Fire Tour opening for Hellyeah, In FLames, and From Ashes To New. Totality arrived in 2019 through Pavement Entertainment, followed by independently released albums “Ethereal Self” in 2021 and “Emergence” in 2023.
Source recently unveiled their interpretation of Radiohead‘s “Optimistic” ahead of their forthcoming fifth full-length studio album.
