“In December 2020 and January 2021, I started to write and demo a bunch of singer-songwriter type songs. Some were in the CSN style and promoted the idea for a Trio record which, you now know, became D’Virgilio, Morse & Jennings’ Troika album.
Others weren’t so harmony-focused, being more like regular pop songs or ballads. This month’s Inner Circle release is a selection of those songs. You’ll recognize songs like ‘Everything I Am,’ ‘One Time Less,’ ‘A Change Is Gonna Come’ and ‘Second Hand Sons’ as tracks that ended up on Troika – but in these versions I’m doing all the instruments and vocals. There are a few other trio-style songs which didn’t make it through to the album, like ‘Almost Home,’ ‘Come A Little Closer’ and ‘Standing In The Light.’ Tracks like ‘Lemonade,’ ‘I’m Comin’ Home’ and ‘We Fight On’ may find a home in some future project but… you heard them here first!“
