German Progressive Rock band Ratken have unveiled official music video for the single “Silence” taken from their new album “Our House,” released on October 23, 2026 via On Stage Records.

Klaus Henatsch, former keyboardist of Nektar, returns with a new musical project.
Ratken stands for powerful Progressive Metal Rock with deep roots in classic Prog Rock. Inspired by bands and artists such as Pink Floyd, Yes, early Genesis and Nektar, especially their unforgettable mastermind Roye Albrighton, the band combines sophisticated compositions with emotional depth, catchy melodies and a clear message.
The formation of Ratken in 2024 is closely linked to the musical history of former Nektar keyboardist Klaus Henatsch. After the death of Roye Albrighton, Klaus dedicated himself to carrying on his musical legacy. With his band New Nektar, founded in 2018, he kept the music of the Progressive Rock legends Nektar alive and released the album “Megalomania,” which received excellent international reviews. However, due to trademark disputes, New Nektar had to disband in 2023. The album “Megalomania” was also withdrawn from the market as a precautionary measure.
With Ratken, he continues this path under a new name and with renewed creative freedom. At the same time, the band builds upon the tradition of Nektar‘s live lineups and the albums “Fortyfied” (2009) and “Time Machine” (2013). Alongside their own compositions, preserving Roye Albrighton’s musical legacy is a central focus of the band. Therefore, selected Nektar classics as well as Roye Albrighton‘s compositions continue to find their place in the live set.
Musically, Ratken moves between atmospheric soundscapes and powerful Rock and Metal passages. Characteristic of Progressive Rock are the shifts between complex, odd time signatures and straightforward Rock grooves. Dark, aggressive moments meet melancholic moods and are repeatedly interrupted by quiet, emotional passages. These results in multifaceted compositions that are both musically sophisticated and immediately accessible.
Ratken‘s music addresses the challenges of a world marked by crises, environmental disasters, and increasing social polarization. The lyrics tackle violence, abuse of power, and developments that threaten democracy, as well as the responsibility of each individual. Despite this critical perspective, a glimmer of hope always remains. Ratken‘s music is a call to action, urging listeners not to passively accept injustice, to take a stand, and to maintain humanity, compassion, and optimism.
Ratken combines the past and future of Progressive Rock — as a tribute to a great musical heritage and at the same time as an independent voice for the challenges of our time.
