Finnish Heavy Rock/Metal powerhouse Rhino Proof have officially returned with the release of their second studio album, “Light, Dark, The End,” via Astral Haven Records.
Delivering a blistering blend of Heavy, pounding tracks and emotional ballads, this album represents a significant step forward for the Joensuu-based quintet.
To celebrate the release, the band has premiered the emotive music video for the emotional power ballad, “Even Closer.”
Regarding the single, Rane explains: “Coinciding with the album release, we are also launching a video for ‘Even Closer’. The little story woven into the album begins with this track; the sun starts to shine, and colors begin to emerge.”
Jukka states on the new single:
“‘Even Closer’ is the album’s ballad — or at least something close to one. Sometimes there are bad days and tough times, and the clouds in the sky just won’t clear, but faith in a better future remains, and perhaps someone is waiting there, too. The video, complete with lyrics, leaves room for the listener’s own interpretation, so it’s definitely worth watching!”

“Light, Dark, The End” is a record born from hardship and transformation. The band faced numerous obstacles during the writing and recording phase, leading to a title that perfectly encapsulates the journey of the last few years.
Rane comments on the new album:
“We are truly excited about the release of our new album! It didn’t come together without a lot of hard work, and it’s exciting to see what kind of reception it will receive. Thanks also to Astral Haven Records for believing in us, they’ve done a fantastic job with the marketing and our videos.”
Jukka says on the album release:
“Finally, the album is out! Many people don’t realize just how big and how long a project this has been. These days, it’s common to release only singles, which is why I’m so proud of our work – especially since it’s available in physical format. Of course, our dream is to release it on vinyl as well. Nine of the best Rhino Proof tracks ever!”
The album was recorded and mixed by Erkko Joronen, with mastering by Jone Väänänen, ensuring a crisp, high-fidelity sound that suits the band’s heavier tendencies. Jukka Nummi’s vocal performance stands as a highlight, particularly given the lightning-fast two-day recording session that captured raw, unadulterated passion.
Designed for the demanding metal music fan, “Light, Dark, The End” is available as a premium Digipak CD and on all digital music services. The band has emphasised the importance of the physical format, with the glossy Digipak CD serving as a centrepiece for any Metal fan’s collection.
