WDR Rockpalast YouTube channel shared the whole performance by Progressive/Alternative/Stoner Rock band Besvärjelsen recorded live at Freak Valley Festival 2023. Watch the full concert through the YouTube player below:
The band from Sweden, whose name means “incantation” in German, focuses on the essentials: no ballyhoo and no posturing, instead raw and fat guitar energy with a heart for melancholy.
Founded in 2014 in Stockholm, Besvärjelsen quickly made a name for themselves in the stoner scene. Frontwoman Lea Amling Alazam draws attention to herself – with her charismatic and melancholic way of performing, she simply stands out. In general, the band knows how to go beyond the Classic Rock wall with a certain spark of melancholy and Soul.
Elements of Progressive Metal, Folk, Punk and Classic Rock’n’Roll complement Besvärjelsen‘s sound in a clever way. All in all, the five rather prefer the slower, grooving rhythms, adrenaline junkies will not get their money’s worth here. Besjärvelsen sound minimalistic, but tasteful – just the way Scandinavians like it.
