Germany’s Rumble Music Promotions is back with another chapter in their relentless underground heavy music crusade. Volume XVI, released on March 27, 2026, lands with 13 tracks and a lineup that stretches across five continents — from Montreal to Montevideo, from Milan to Kent, from Cyprus to Houston. As always, the Hagen-based promotion entity keeps its curatorial compass locked on the heaviest, grittiest, and most obscure sounds currently moving through the global underground.

A few names deserve a special mention. TONS from Turin need no introduction to anyone following the Italian heavy underground — their contribution here, “Lost In Plantation,” clocks in at over seven minutes and is one of the compilation’s most hypnotic entries. Vermiforme from Uruguay bring a remarkable guest appearance: Jason Taylor of The Obsessed, one of the true founding fathers of American Doom, lending his presence to “Gusanos III” and giving the whole compilation an extra layer of underground legitimacy. Iron Slug from Kent, UK deliver the longest track of the set with “Graceless Bodies” — eight minutes of sludge-drenched heaviness that earns every second. The Polvos! from Concepción, Chile close the compilation’s heavier mid-section with “The Anubis Death,” nearly eight minutes of crushing, Cinematic Doom. Witchsnake from Milan add a dose of sleazy, venomous heavy rock to the mix, while Stonus from Cyprus and Phantom Druid from the Netherlands round out a genuinely international cast with precision and restraint.
“Volume XVI” is a strong entry in the series — geographically diverse, sonically consistent, and proof that the global heavy underground continues to operate well outside any mainstream radar.
