Genova, Italy. A name that carries weight before you even press play. Sarvaega — vocalist and bassist, and the creative force at the heart of the project — has spent time building something deliberately slow, deliberate, and Heavy. “Postumo,” the debut album from the Genoese Gothic-Doom Metal trio bearing his name, arrives June 05, 2026 via Black Widow Records in physical format: seven original compositions plus a cover of Coven‘s archetypal “Black Sabbath,” a choice that speaks volumes about where these songs live and breathe.

The lineup is lean by design. Damiano Logozzo handles lead guitar, Zazza anchors the rhythm on drums and percussion, while the album expands its sonic palette through the contributions of Darth Nevis — who adds rhythmic guitar and sitar — and Simone Carbone, whose synthesizer work deepens the atmosphere considerably. It’s a collaborative framework built around a singular vision, and “Postumo” sounds exactly like something assembled that way: unified in tone, deliberate in pace, uncompromising in weight.
The record carries all the hallmarks of the finest doom tradition — Doom as eulogy, Doom as ritual — filtered through a sensibility that draws on gothic atmosphere and the kind of riff architecture that doesn’t hurry toward its destination. The sitar contributions in particular lend the album an unexpected dimension, threading Eastern colour through the funeral march without ever feeling like ornamentation.
The album will be presented live on the day of its release at the “II° Ars Metal Mentis Doomfest” at Crazy Bull, Genova — an appropriate setting for a record that sounds like it was written to be heard in a room where the lights are low and the volume is not.
For those who’ve spent time in the deeper corridors of Doom and Gothic metal — where riffs grieve, vocals haunt, and time moves differently — “Postumo” will feel like home.
