Hartford, Connecticut based Progressive Metal duo Shagohod have unveiled the single version of the track, “Swashbuckle Up” taken from their new album, “A Curse That Hides the Door,” released on April 24, 2026.

“A Curse That Hides the Door” is the album that Shagohod has always wanted to make. Based on classic films about mummies (yes, including THAT one), pulpy adventure stories and real-life history, Shagohod combines and refracts these inspirations to craft their most deeply personal record yet. The album asks listeners to reflect on what it all means: What can we hope to make out of our brief time in this strange and beautiful world? What does it mean to let go? And what happens when we refuse?
Shagohod is a DIY prog metal band hailing from Hartford, CT. Equal parts ambitious and earnest, Shagohod writes thematic genre fiction concept records with a flair for the dramatic and a strong emotional core.
