We’re in the home stretch before the release of “Creatures,” the new album from Six Months Of Sun (Cold Smoke Records/Urgence Disk)! This third album, celebrating 15 years of existence of this hidden treasure of the instrumental stoner metal scene, is due out on December 06, 2024 And to keep the party going, the Geneva-based trio unveil a final extract on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. After “Ningen” and “Gevaudan,” it’s time for another LOURD beast: “Shai Hulud.” For fans of Karma To Burn, Pelican and Mastodon!
Watch out, there’s a big Stoner banger on the menu. “Shai Hulud” takes a slightly different approach to the other “Creatures” tracks. Originally based on a demo for Lilium Sova (bassist Cyril Chal‘s other band), it’s a track that doesn’t hesitate to have fun forging its own identity. Its changing rhythmic patterns (it grooves and it blasts!) are combined with riffs that oscillate between heaviness and razor-sharp strokes, while the bass holds the fort with fuzz galore! Solidified by this production by Serge Morattel (Ventura, Knut, Zatokrev…), here’s another big beast with a massive sound, destined to shake walls and floors.
