[News] Six Months Of Sun reveal the first single “Gevaudan” taken from their upcoming new album

Geneva’s Stoner Metal band Six Months Of Sun reveal the first single “Gevaudan” taken from their upcoming new album “Creatures” due out on December 06, 2024 Cold Smoke Records and Urgence Disk. Honoring the concept of this 3rd opus by its title, “Gevaudan” is a big beast with a massive sound, passed through the magic fingers of Serge Morattel (Ventura, Knut, Zatokrev…). A must for fans of Karma To Burn, Pelican and Mastodon!

Watch out and make way for the riff! And the one on “Gevaudan” is as sharp as it gets, carried along by a rhythm section that’s both groovy and straight. The result is a tumultuous atmosphere that never lets go. Six Months Of Sun‘s Stoner sound seems to be imbued with a Post-Metal, even Post-Hardcore vibe, given the sheer amount of aggression on display. But there’s also something epic and grandiloquent about it, with the organs hidden behind the wall of sound but still very much present. Christophe Grasset (guitar, ex-Rorcal), tells us more:

“Gevaudan” was composed shortly before the studio session. The idea was to write a more “traditional stoner” track, fronted and accessible, which could be used as a single.

But nature took its course, we came up with lots of good ideas and the song quickly became more complex. For the better, because we really like it!
