The decline of Western Civilization almost feels inevitable these days. With each “Breaking News” story that hits our feeds the moment it happens, daily life begins to feel overwhelming. There is no time to comprehend what you just read or watched because it’s immediately replaced with another news story. And the cycle continues.
This is bleeding over into the world of music. A new song, a new band, a new tour is being announced every few seconds it seems. This is fantastic, but hard to keep up with. One thing missing is the excitement as the story of a band or album unfolds.
Enter SIXYEARHEX. This band has a story to tell and will take the next few months releasing each track off the album as a chapter of the book.
Hailing from North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, SIXYEARHEX is a passion project for Rob Broyhill, who wrote and recorded all parts, as well as mixed the debut EP, “Under The Glow.” For live performances, Rob enlists the services of a drummer, rounding out the lineup to comprise a thunderous power duo. Blazing a new sonic trail, SIXYEARHEX takes a lean, uniquely distilled approach to Doom and Desert Rock; all while embracing efficiency, hooks, and the power of the almighty riff.
