On August 26, 2025, genre-bending Doom’n’Roll power duo Sixyearhex have unveiled their powerful new single, “Last Time” — a raw, cathartic anthem that explores the moment of clarity when self-worth finally outweighs emotional chaos. The track marks the final single from the band’s hauntingly cinematic 2024 EP “Under The Glow,” originally released on Halloween.

“Last Time” deals with the emotional unraveling of a romantic relationship steeped in the Dismissive Avoidant discard cycle — a toxic loop of connection and withdrawal. With lyrics that cut through the fog of manipulation, Sixyearhex offers a fierce declaration of closure and self-reclamation. It’s a good track for anyone who’s ever hit their breaking point and walked away for good.
“This song is about reaching the edge of the cliff emotionally, but instead of falling, you finally take a step back,” says songwriter Rob Broyhill. “It’s that final, painful moment when you realize you’ve had enough – and that you deserve more.”
Sixyearhex has been steadily gaining attention for their blend of Dark Alt-Rock, Post-Grunge aesthetics, with Doom and Stoner elements thrown in for good measure. “Under The Glow” was essentially a way for Rob to process recent life changes and explore creativity by writing and recording all parts of the self-produced EP, which was initially intended to be a solo project. However, the addition of drummer Derrick Brown has opened a new chapter of inspiration and innovation. With “Last Time,” the “Under The Glow” era comes to a close, but not without leaving a mark.
The band is now deep in production on their debut full-length album, slated for release in Spring 2026. Promising to push their sound into uncharted territory, the upcoming record will expand on themes of identity, dissociation, and transformation in a world that feels increasingly unreal.
“Last Time” is available on all streaming platforms August 26th, 2025.
