Polish DoomMetal band Smoke Rites released first single “Death is a Five Letter Word” taken from their upcoming new album, scheduled for release in September 2025. Stream the track through the YouTube player below:
Smoke Rites draws inspiration from bands such as Black Sabbath, Sleep, Crowbar and High on Fire. The band was formed in the fall of 2020 in Warsaw, Poland.
“Death is a Five Letter Words” is the first track from the upcoming Smoke Rites’ album. It features guest vocals by Monika Adamska-Guzikowska of the band TOŃ. Bartek Bartol is responsible for the cover artwork.
This is what the band says about the single “Death is a Five Letter Words“: “It’s a song about the face of our commonplace death, lurking in blank stares and small human dramas. The face of mortality can be banal, tired, sad, lonely or frightening. It is present everywhere and always.”.
The new album is scheduled for release in September 2025.
