Cologne, Germany based Psychedelic/Krautrock band Smokemaster shared the official full stream for their new album “Cosmic Connector” out on April 21, 2023 via Tonzonen Records. Stream the whole album through the youTube player below:
Smokemaster is a Psychedelic Rock band from Cologne. Their music is danceable, intuitive and full of intense moments. The sound combines different styles from the spectrum of Psychdelic Rock.
Their bandwidth ranges from spherical, sustained parts a la Pink Floyd to degenerating jams as known from live performances by The Doors, or nowadays Colour Haze.
After the first release of their music video “Chill Out Rage” made it into the rotation of the Austrian music channel GoTV, Smokemaster realised an outdoor live concert in the heart of Cologne in 2018 together with a collective of sound system hobbyists and cameramen. The resulting live videos were convincing and Tonzonen Records signed the band.
In 2019, the five musicians withdrew to record their first album on their own. The collaboration with Eroc, who had already been in the studio with greats like Conny Plank as Grobschnitt‘s drummer, proved to be a stroke of luck. With an incredible amount of dedication and commitment, he gave the record the brilliance and punch it needed.
The New York visual and video artist Larry Carlson was enlisted to create the music video for the first single, “Astral Traveller,” which underpinned the song with a visual journey through the realm of dreams. The video is available on Youtube and Facebook.
Since May 2020, the self-titled album “Smokemaster” has been available on vinyl, CD and digitally and quickly became a crowd favourite. In the first month, the Youtube video for the album cracked the 10,000 views mark and the first run of physical media was sold out.
