Steegmord, the latest project from Belgian songwriter Maarten Doumen, goes from sparkly clean guitars, sprinkled with ambient synth swells, to wild, drop-tuned Experimental Prog riffs. The Ertvelde-based Progressive Metal artist Steegmord is steering toward a different sound in 2022. Influenced by a huge span of music including Mastodon, Opeth, In Flames, Dorje, Rabea Massaad and Toska, Steegmord has finished it’s new full length album “Trepidation” resulting in a little over a half hour of Instrumental Melodic Metal riffs with lot’s of dynamic and some stoner vibes to top it off.
No stranger to the stage, Maarten has toured throughout the BeNeLux as well as Germany and Czech Republic over the last 7 years with melodic metal/metalcore acts Six o’ Five and Stranger Dimensions. By now Steegmord has established a name for itself as a studio project. But a bright future lies ahead.
This project will shake the foundations of any venue in its path with captivating stage presence, high energy, stage effects (when authorized), and mesmerizing lights, as well as hard hitting music to back it up!
