In January 2025, Ström began recording their third album at Tilt Studio in Strömstad. Just after the first session, the band was confident they had a true Rock banger on their hands-one they simply couldn’t keep to themselves. “Ödet Slår Hårt” is an energetic hit that won’t leave anyone sitting still. It’s about how we all have a destiny in life that we either follow or want to follow. Sometimes, fate catches up with us in a soft and warm way; other times, it hits us hard in the face, forcing us to live up to it. And sometimes, we can’t follow our destiny because we listen to everyone except ourselves. That’s when fate strikes the hardest!
The exclusive B-side on the physical vinyl single is the song “Bedövar En Stund,” which was recorded for their second album but didn’t make the cut due to space limitations. “Bedövar En Stund” is an arena anthem that at its core deals with mental health, though it may not necessarily be visible on the outside. It highlights that a safe childhood, a good education, and a successful career are not definitive recipes for “happiness.” The song captures the feeling that arises when there is “empty space” in everyday life-when thoughts catch up with us and how common it is to silently struggle with them in the back of our minds.
