Swedish Psychedelic Doom outfit Häxmästaren have announced new EP “Skuggor Del I,” alongside the release of lead single “Skuggor,” introducing a revitalised lineup and an evolved, heavier take on the band’s Psychedelic Doom sound.

Following several years of transformation, lineup changes and musical evolution, “Skuggor del I” represents something of a rebirth for Häxmästaren, while also serving as the first part of a larger full-length work.
Formed in 2017, Häxmästaren have spent nearly a decade developing their own collision of colossal Doom riffs, Psychedelic atmospheres, Blues and flashes of Black Metal. Their debut album “Haexprocess” arrived in 2018 via Suicide Fox Records, followed by “Sol i Exil” through Majestic Mountain Records in 2021.
The years since have brought considerable change to the band. Joakim Atterfelt (Descalier) has joined on drums and Simon Hansson (Psychobrew, The Snifferhill Experience) has taken over vocal duties, bringing fresh influences and a new dynamic alongside guitarists Fredrik Frendberg and Andreas Petersson.
Rather than slowing Häxmästaren down, that transformation has pushed their music somewhere new.
Recorded with producer Kalle Lilja (Långfinger, Toad Venom, Draconian Descent) at Welfare Studios, “Skuggor del I” finds the band sounding heavier, more energetic and more Psychedelic than ever, while retaining the massive riffs and dark atmosphere at the heart of their identity.
New single “Skuggor” offers the latest taste of that evolution and another step into the strange new world the band have been building.
“Skuggor del I” is conceived as the opening chapter of a larger full-length album and the beginning of a new era for Häxmästaren.
