Tapeworm Electric is a female fronted, rock band from Athens, Greece. Formed in 2018, the band is heavily influenced by the 70s Hard Rock sound of Britain as well as the american arena-driven music of the same era, infused with psychedelic passages and heavy guitars.
Pre-Covid 19, Tapeworm Electric was a very active live band and they try to maintain the live feeling and attitude, in their studio recordings.
In the summer of 2019 they released their debut EP “Fire” and during the lockdowns of 2020 & 2021 they put up a series of cover videos and a digital single titled “Speak.”
In 2021 the band got in the studio and recorded 5 new tracks which will be released in 5 installments.
“Islands In The Sky” is the first one of the lot.
It is a guitar driven, classic hard rock shuffle in the likes of Rainbow and Uriah Heep.The title is borrowed of the Arthur Clark‘s novel, “Islands In The Sky,” while the lyrics of the song are describing a futuristic life where people left the earth to live in huge island-like satellites.
The music is written by Akis Dafalias and has been arranged by the whole band. The lyrics are written by George Kasapidis and Argyro Igkilizian.
