The power trio from Lille (North of France) are set to shake up the hive of adventurous music with their debut album “Exilion,” out on March 07, 2025. On this Wednesday, January 15, cousins Nicolas Bonnet, Julien Heudel and Vincent Berrier unveil a thunderous “Endless Blast,” crystallizing the band’s entire sonic spectrum. Psychedelic Rock, Stoner and Post-Punk collide for a boiling-hot result. Fans of Slift, Maserati and Osees will be in the right place!
“Endless Blast” is a track born of a very doomy and dark idea brought by Julien (bassist), after acquiring a powerful bass octaver that can be heard in the intro. The Baptized give free rein to a style often exploited in their improvisations, rarely in their songs. Now it’s time for big, Heavy, Psychedelic explosions, based on simple, effective plans. As the singular intro gradually sets the scene, the tension mounts until Nicolas Bonnet‘s guitar spits out the distortion. Gaining in intensity at the heart of the track, the trio unleash a powerful stoner surge, creating a surprise for anyone venturing out!
This first single introduces us to the concept of this “choose your own adventure” album, that The Baptized offer with “Exilion.” “Endless Blast” is the third stage of this journey through inhospitable lands on the edge of space:
The Blast is the shockwave caused by an explosion. Something that’s supposed to be brutal and short, but in this track, the blast lasts forever. Once again, we find this notion of violent wind explored in “Furvent” on the previous track, or the most possible force of wind, as described by Alain Damasio in La Horde du Contrevent (The Horde Of Counterwind). We wanted to extend this theme and retain this idea of hostile wind, which is reflected in “Endless Blast.”
