The Blackwall is a fusion of Dark energies and spooky feelings, featuring acoustic melodies altering with Heavy blasts and horrifying aura as if they could fit to a soundtrack of a Tim Burton movie.
It’s Gothic Rock characterised by Dark sounds and spooky atmospheres and also Progressive Metal hints for a music full of powerful passages, reflective moments, unexpected bass lines and often sounding evil. The result is a focus on music so close to the Gothic Dark Metal of bands like Tiamat or Sentenced without forgetting the Progressive side of Opeth and Ghost.
A passion for the 70s can also be spotted across the influences.
The cover art has been designed by internationally renowned artist Travis Smith (Opeth, Katatonia, Overkill, Riverside).
With their music The Blackwall succeed in recreating their own universe and through their totally personal imagery, the band exteriorizes this spooky world.
The band states: “Our debut LP is finally out! In other words, 10 spooky stories, narrated through haunting melodies and crafted in rock songs that can make you move, despite the murky atmosphere! From the opening banger ‘The Devil’s Discord’ and gloomy Viking Metal anthem ‘Skål’ up to woodland claustrophobic ’The Witch’, the album is a collection of songs that gravitate between dark heavy riffs, solitary acoustic guitars and a prevailing Halloween atmosphere!“
