Ready to ride the waves of the dark sea and discover The Catch‘s Heritage Fishing Metal? The band released their debut single “Sex Shark” on Despotz Records, watch the official video through the YouTube player below:

Captain French comments, “Hey, I’m Captain French. So, do you want to know about my band ‘The Catch’? Well, we are the first ‘Heritage Fishing Metal’ band to release their debut single called ‘Sex Shark’. This will be a long journey on the dark sea with my eminent pirates aboard, on our huge ship!

The Catch play the best form of Folk Metal ever created – Heritage Fishing Metal. To show the world how superior this genre is to all others, we decided to record a single from the first song we’ve ever written – ‘Sex Shark’. Special guests on ‘Sex Shark’ include Gareth from Alestorm, Sami from Korpiklaani, Petri from Ensiferum, Keith from Cruachan, Baldur from Skalmold, Emilio from Skiltron, John Ryan Ex-Cruachan and more.
The second track of the single ‘Sex Shark’ features a very special appearance of Kim Dylla, formerly known as Vulvatron – GWAR singer and designer of stage clothes for metal with her brand Kylla Custom Rockwear. Kim plays the role of phone sex operator for her very unique vocal participation on this piece. Not suitable for children, haha. Also the Sex Shark video is a unique experience, created by Andon Hristov, the video shows a burtonesque vision of the hell of sex sharks

Captain French says of the new single: “This song is very deep and meaningful with lyrics that will stir you up and make you contemplate life and fish…. and sharks with peas all around. When the Folk Metal world heard that the greatest band of all time was finally planning to release a single, there was a riot as everyone in the scene was clamoring to be a part of this release.” // Captain French

Captain French on The Catch: “The story begins in the cold and terrible summer of 2013 when me and a guy called ‘Crunchy Cod’ decided to form a band. We formed a band, we did a concert and that’s it. Crunchy Cod sailed for the Colonies and everything stopped for seven years, seven months and seven days. After that time, I started writing more fishing and piracy songs, enough to record an album in the unlikely event we landed a record deal based on our trashy YouTube videos. Then one day we got a record deal with Despotz Records based on our trashy YouTube videos. Oops, better dust off those songs.
