A few months ago we received information about a new band from Malaga that was entering the studio to record their first compositions. That band is The Silver Linings, and we are very happy that they wanted to join our humble recording family and thus accompany them on this journey.
However, it wasn’t until May 21, 2023 when they released their first compositions under the title “TSL,” giving their first live performance that same night at Bon Vivant Brevery (Málaga). Since then, those first 4 songs by Lolo Cortés (drums), Catarina Serer (guitar), Javi Toledano (guitar, vocals) and José Gutiérrez (bass) have not stopped being played here at El Sótano de Spinda Records, and there is a lot to cut.
The Silver Linings were born with their own sound, which draws from both Space Rock and German Krautrock, without making no bones about Acid Rock and even the beginnings of Britpop; all with a British influence that takes you through three decades of music in the barely 20 minutes that their presentation EP lasts. And for this, what better than to work on the artwork together with Antonio Ramírez from Mentes de Ácido (Atavismo, Híbrido, Medicina, Bourbon, Viaje a 800, Partícula).
In the next weeks the band will enter again in Hollers Analog Studio (Málaga), to shape a debut album that will be released in October of this year, and in which Marta Malinowska‘s sax will be part of this very young band. More information coming soon…
With infinite and colourful influences from the million spheres and the psychotropic multiverse. They live and compose in the spirit of having a good time, making fun flourish among their audience and fleeing from the technocratic obscurantism imposed by the beings of flat thinking and the underlying paranoia of perpetual suffering.
