“A Song For While I’m Away” and these new mixes have been created using the original parts Thin Lizzy played, stripping back all the production to the bare bones of how the band would have written and built the songs.
Richard Whittaker who remixed “Vagabonds of the Western World” and this accompanying EP comments “The new versions came about whilst I was mixing the Vagabonds album in Atmos & 5.1. I noticed that the analogue multi-tracks for these four songs contained additional unused instrumentation which worked really nicely together. I presented some rough mix ideas an everyone loved them; they show a different side to Thin Lizzy.”
All of the tracks are new versions of songs that appear on the 50th anniversary super deluxe editions of what is widely regarded as Thin Lizzy’s breakthrough album “Vagabonds Of The Western World.”
