UK-based Metal trio URNE have returned with a massive new single, “Harken The Waves,” featuring none other than Troy Sanders of Mastodon. Released alongside a hypnotic visualiser crafted by 12 Inch Media, the track marks the beginning of a bold new chapter for the band following the success of their acclaimed 2023 album “A Feast on Sorrow.”
Clocking in at over nine minutes, “Harken The Waves” is a monumental and emotionally charged piece that sees the band exploring deeper atmospheres and progressive textures, all while staying true to their Heavy roots. From haunting melodies and crushing riffs to Sanders‘ unmistakable vocal presence, the track builds and swells with cinematic scope.
URNE frontman Joe Nally states:
We feel this is one of the best songs we’ve ever written. It needed something extra to elevate it to another level. Having someone like Troy Sanders on it, whose voice and presence we respect so much, means a lot to us. It’s an honour to have him as part of this.
Though not officially tied to a new album yet, the band hints that this single opens a fresh artistic cycle, both musically and thematically. The collaboration with Sanders feels like a natural progression for a band that has consistently pushed the boundaries of modern metal and progressive music.
The visualiser, available now on YouTube, enhances the immersive qualities of the track, featuring deep-sea visuals and abstract imagery that echo the song’s lyrical and emotional undercurrents.
