Athens, Greece 405 B.C.
Dionysus decides to bring the greatest playwright back from the dead.
(The drum beats to an evocative 5/8 rhythm, while the cello carries the melody)
2nd Movement:
Charmon ferries him across the lake where Frogs scream!
(The melody changes slightly in a 7/8 rhythm. Vre ke ke kex the frogs croak!)
3rd Movement:
Finally, he arrives to Hades, the underworld.
(No melody there, only terrifying sounds, screaming strings and polyrhythms)
Ignoring Aristophanes, Dionysus ultimately decides to stay in Hell.
