Born in Messina in 2017, Yasna made their long-distance debut in 2021 with “Twilight Of Idols.” A complex work (all members of the band can boast high-level professional experience in the field of music and/or conservatory), which on a Prog Metal musical base innervated by Old School Heavy Metal, Thrash and Groove influences complemented by high-impact refrains, shows lyrics concerning the path, thoughts and anxieties of the Man who will become the OverMan. The Übermensch Zarathustra described in F. Nietzsche’s philosophy. “The path goes from reliance on a creator who is an eternal, superior figure, through the acceptance of a circular reality, to endless repetition. The resulting emptiness leads to the turmoil of a howling mind and its inner battles, rejecting all Idols, with the realisation that we are unique and independent.” A single titled “Humankind’s Prerogative” was extracted from the album, of which a video clip was filmed, and which has been on the national Heavy Prog circuit for a long time and beyond.
After joining the Metal Zone Italia roster, Yasna now present a new single entitled “Flesh ‘N Bones,” whose lyrics are a metaphor for the fight against the monsters that inhabit our unconscious, which sometimes end up subjugating us. However, by reconstructing ourselves it is still possible to overcome them. The track is again accompanied by a professional video, testifying to the commitment and seriousness of these guys. “Flesh ‘N Bones,” available on all digital platforms from 25 November 2022, was presented live during the release party the day before on the stage of Retronouveau, a historic venue in Messina. A decisive restart together with a rising record company and a different management, which through precise steps will lead Yasna to the release of a new album. For the moment, the appetiser constituted by this song is the perfect snapshot of the excellent possibilities of this intriguing and very modern Italian band.
