High decibel providers Yoo Doo Right are back with an epic quarter-of-an-hour sonic maelstrom, also the first single off forthcoming long play “A Murmur, Boundless To The East,” scheduled for June 10, 2022 via Mothland.
The polymorphic Post-Rocking essay entitled “Feet Together, Face Up, On The Front Lawn,” comes accompanied by an Experimental short film directed by Mackenzie Reid Rostad and should please fans of Godspeed You! Black Emperor, My Bloody Valentine or METZ.

After premiering its tracks for hometown fans inside the dome at Société des arts technologiques de Montréal in the Summer of 2020, post-everything outfit Yoo Doo Right knew there was but one way to record “A Murmur, Boundless To The East“: live off-the-floor at world-famous studio Hotel2Tango. To help achieve this vision, the musicians called upon acclaimed record producer, Radwan Ghazi Moumneh (Suuns, Ought, Fly Pan Am), who deftly printed forty-five minutes of gritty Experimental Rock.
Though dynamics and depth were always core elements in Yoo Doo Right’s music, “A Murmur, Boundless To The East” reaffirms the notion that the spectrum of sound is in fact infinite. Also thanks to the work of celebrated engineer Seth Manchester, tasked with mixing the opus at Machines With Magnets (Battles, Lightning Bolt, Lingua Ignota) in Pawtucket (RI), as well as that of Matthew Barnhart (FACS, Destroyer, METZ) at Chicago Mastering Services, fans of extremes in music are served with a long-player that fascinates and lingers.
The band comments: “A Murmur, Boundless To The East’s overarching theme is suppressed anger or gritted teeth. We went to Hotel2Tango to record with our friend Radwan Ghazi Moumneh, hoping to build on our sound, while being more cohesive, more patient. As was mainly the case on our previous album, we again recorded most of the tracks live off-the-floor. Another friend of ours, Jessica Moss, laid some violin on the album. The tracks then traveled all the way to Pawtucket, RI to be mixed by Seth Manchester at Machine With Magnets, before ending in Chicago for mastering.”
Also featuring inspired contributions from innovative violin player, Jessica Moss (Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra & Tralala Band, Black Ox Orkestar), to compliment percussion, bass, guitar, synthesizers and vocals, “A Murmur, Boundless To The East” is a must-have for fans of Godspeed You! Black Emperor, My Bloody Valentine, METZ, etc.
Yoo Doo Right’s (Montréal, CA) wed noisy, melodic guitar parts, effect-heavy synthesizer soundscapes, deep bass grooves and patented percussive furies into a literal wall of sound. In their honest approach to experimentation, they engage with elements of krautrock, shoegaze, post-rock and psychedelia, crafting a unique sound that could be described as a “car crash in slow motion”.
Over the years, Yoo Doo Right have toured all of Canada, the United States as well as Europe, playing festivals such as SXSW, Levitation Psych Fest, M for Montreal, Sled Island and Treefort Festival, while sharing the stage with the likes of Acid Mothers Temple, DIIV, A Place to Bury Strangers, Wooden Shjips, Kikagaku Moyo, FACS, FRIGS and Jessica Moss, amongst others.
