In a statement about the song, guitarist Kostas Konstantinidis shared: “Feral is one of the first songs written for ‘Magna Mater’ and indicated the album’s sound and feel. It continues the existential journey that started with ‘Inside’ and is about that primal voice in our head that arms us to confront our inner wilderness, while exploring vulnerability. It is dedicated to everyone facing their own battles of mind and soul.”
