Thomas V Jäger, frontman of the Swedish Stoner/Doom band Monolord, is back with a new solo album. Second release of 2023, entitled “Iron Nights” is a completely DIY production containing 8 tracks and available from November 17, 2023. Musically, the album continues and evolves the discourse undertaken with the previous one, managing to mix the artist’s style with a touch of acoustic and emotional rock. With that touch of Nordic Folk, at times melancholic, it intertwines with Prog, Psychedelia, enhancing both compositional and executive technique in all the instruments and in Thomas singing. A varied and comprehensive tracklist, exploring all the facets that make up the artist’s solo sound. The album is predominantly acoustic but very intense and engaging with more rhythmic tracks and others that are more introverted and emotional, always keeping the listener pleasantly involved. Like its predecessor, it is a different musical proposition from what Thomas offers with his band, showing a more intimate side of the artist. Some artists participate in some of the tracks, although almost all the music and vocal parts are performed by Thomas. The retro imprinting of the sound is skilfully brought into a fresh and modern context by the artist, who offers us another eight tracks of fine workmanship. A recommended listen for lovers of the more acoustic and softer sounds of Rock, another excellent record release from Thomas V Jäger.
