The Trip, an Italian-British band formed in London in 1966, became a starting point for ‘Progressive‘ in the history of Italian music, and with “Atlantide,” released in 1972 by Joe Vescovi, Arvid “Wegg” Andersen, and Furio Chirico, the band defined its musicality as Progressive Rock and achieved great worldwide success.

The story of The Trip continues in 2022, 50 years after the release of the masterpiece “Atlantifde,” with the birth of Furio Chirico’s The Trip, a new line-up led by Furio Chirico (the only remaining member of the historic trio) that takes up the idea and sound of the original 1972 breakthrough, which sees, alongside drummer Furio Chirico, excellent musicians such as Paolo “Silver” Silvestri (Hammond, synthesisers and vocals), Giuseppe “Gius” Lanari (lead vocals and bass) and Marco Rostagno (guitar and vocals).

“Equinox” is the new concept album by Furio Chirico’s The Trip, whose primary goal is to break new ground, pursue research and musical experimentation, without any nostalgic approach but rooted in the most authentic sound of Progressive Rock that the original trio conceived. The media are excited about the imminent release of “Equinox,” so much so that Euro-Rock Press, Japan’s most prestigious music magazine, has dedicated its entire cover to it, stating: “The legendary rock band “THE TRIP” has made a miraculous comeback with the new album “Equinox”!“
