Spanish Post-Rock band Røux premiere in exclusive via Progressive Rock Journal their new single “Hardeniya,” available for stream via YouTube on November 09, 2022 at 8 am.
The video will be available on Wednesday, November 09, 2022 on YouTube:
Røux takes form at the end of 2021,as an instrumental power-trio. Inspired and influenced by scene behemoths such as Russian Circles, Toundra, God Is An Astronaut, Mogwai or Explosions In TheSky.
Røux offers a different auditive experience compared to any other band in the genre. We drift from the heavy-riffing and crude textures of stoner-rock to more ambiental and dreamy soundscapes. This combination offers a nunique approach, combining both heavy and ethereal aspects.
The band consists in: Alberto de la Vara on guitar, Nacho Martínez on bass and H. Adriaensens on drums.

Mini-Interview with the band:
Hi, how are you?
“Very nice and we are very excited with all the things coming in the following months. We are promoting our very first track ever and after a month of the release all the comments and feedback are being very positive. This makes us keep going and thinking we are doing interesting things in (at least) the Spanish Post-Rock /Post-Metal scene. The second part of the promotion of “Hardeniya” includes the official video that you can see in our youtube channel from the 9th of November.“
It’s a real pleasure to host the premiere of your track, how would you describe it?
Hardeniya was one of our first songs together and developed by all of us from a very initial idea from Alberto (guitars). This started the way how we worked in the band regarding compositions, and described what Røux itself is at its pure essence. The song has free meaning for every person that would listen to it. For us this song means a lot: freedom, hope and to rise against injustice…but as we mentioned, we prefer you to think just what evoques for listeners. About the name, Hardeniya is the way to pronounce “Gardenia” a type of a very beautiful and resistant flower in Ukrainian language. We loved how it sounds and we
thought that it’s a very powerful name with a very powerful non-explicit message. That’s why there’s a white flower on the cover of the song.
What themes does the video for the single deal with?
As we are a power trio, we thought to make the video as direct and raw as possible. This is just us playing somewhere in the middle of nowhere. All the artstyle (color and textures) haskind of retro look and the intro and typography has a little bit of Tarantino’s. We think this kind of style could match very well with the song and the average intention of the video, to show us just playing like we can do it live.
Are you planning to release an album in the near future?
As we are a very young band, just a couple of years since we had our first contact, Hardeniya was the starting shot. We wanted to experiment on how to print on a record the energy and the power that we have when we play live. During this month we started recording/producing new drums and bass lines for our
forthcoming 3-4 songs EP. This time we are exploring new ways of recording, mostly on guitars to have quite time enough to experiment and add extra layers and textures that with time running against us is very difficult. We hope we could capture everything as we think it should be to transmit power and a big
sound of our instruments and effects.
Your style incorporates different genres and influences, how would you describe your sound?
This question is always very difficult because it doesn’t matter what you say, you’ll be always wrong . We listen to a lot of music and we have some bands to see in the mirror such a Russian Circles, outside our frontiers, or Toundra, in our country. We think we have common ingredients but as we are different musicians we have our own sound-label. A mix of “this and that”. We hope we can achieve a very personal character, easy to identify after a couple of seconds of listening. About the sound. We are obsessed with our sound. As we are just 3 people we need to think how to do it to sound huge, mainly onstage (in the studio you can fake or doubled-quad track, etc) But in a live situation… is another thing. We play with 2 tube amps (quite different tone between them) with big reverbs, delays and ping-pong effects. On bass we use 3 layers to cover all the low end and add extra textures on high-mids frequencies. Bass, guitars and drums mixes big and powerful distorted riffs in the style of stoner/doom rock with emotional and epic phrases in the style of classic post rock bands.
Your music is very elaborate and it would be interesting to hear it live, do you have plans in this regard?
Yes, we have the presentation of Hardeniya next Saturday the 12th of November and for 2023 we have already planned to visit Sevilla, Barcelona and maybe Galicia.
