Hexecutioner Tornit

Seattle Doom Metal unit Hexecutioner premieres the official music video for “Skookum,” taken from their latest full-length, “Tornit,“ self-released on May 30, 2025.

Let yourself be carried by the ritualistic pulse of “Skookum” via its premiere on the band’s official YouTube channel:

Hexecutioner state about the track:
In the foggy Pacific Northwest, there is a legend of Sasquatch that is alive and real. Seattle-based Doom Metal band Hexecutioner explores the dark mystical tales of a giant creature with many names. One who lurks in the shadows and prefers not to be seen. Giant sludgy Doom riffage ahead…

Tornit” stands as Hexecutioner’s most expansive and immersive work to date. The album is built on massive slabs of Sludge, riffs that move with tectonic weight and an undercurrent of meditative tension reminiscent of Om. Erin’s vocal delivery introduces a soulful, smoky edge—evoking the hypnotic charisma of Acid King—while the overall sound maintains a gritty, Grunge-streaked depth akin to Windhand, pushing the band beyond the typical Sludge/Doom/Stoner formula.

Skookum” opens the album with overwhelming force: a towering riff structure pulled forward by a bass tone thick enough to blur the air around it, propelled by drumming that alternates between ritualistic pulse and sudden, feral impact. Around the 6:14 mark, the main motif shifts into a darker, more urgent variation, teasing out new dynamics while letting bass and drums carve through the mix with lethal clarity.

On “Submission,” Hexecutioner embrace a destructive, rolling momentum—an immense groove that descends like a boulder gathering speed, driven by an engrossing percussive performance and fuzz-drenched low-end pressure. “Bind My Foe,” at eleven minutes, is a study in repetition, texture, and controlled violence: subtle variations in guitar and bass accumulate until the track erupts into one of the album’s heaviest closing sequences. “Rogue” acts as the record’s final burst of energy, channelling a more Stoner-leaning approach with echo-laden vocals and the album’s
most unrestrained drumming, sealing “Tornit” with a sense of raw urgency.
