Doombia Viene

Doombia unveil their new single “Doombia Viene,” a vibrant and politically charged statement that blends Cumbia, Blues, Afro-Colombian rhythms and Peruvian Chicha with Heavy, Doom-driven guitars. The track anticipates the band’s upcoming album “Doombia: Vol. 2, El Diablo Que Conoces,” and confirms their unmistakable identity at the crossroads between Latin diasporic traditions and crushing heavy psychedelia.

Built on hypnotic percussion, saturated grooves and a raw vocal delivery, “Doombia Viene” moves like a danceable invocation. The Spanish refrain — “La Doombia viene para ti y toda la gente bailando aquí” — reinforces the communal, celebratory mood, while its English counterpart (“Doombia’s coming for you / And there ain’t nothin’ you can do”) injects a mischievous, tongue-in-cheek attitude into the track.

Doombia describe their sound as “a little Cumbia mixed with Blues and Doom guitars, infused with Peruvian Chicha and rooted in Afro-Colombian rhythms,” and this single embodies that formula in full.

The lineup features Brendan Deiz (vocals, guitar, “death whistle”), Koby Haigerty (drums), Celeste Wright (bass), and Nate Wright (congas and percussion). The single was mixed by Justin Phelps and mastered by Alan Douches, reinforcing its sharp balance between earthy textures and Heavy low-end punch.

Beyond the strictly musical dimension, Doombia openly embrace an anti-fascist, pro-immigrant and LGBTQ-inclusive ethos — an identity that permeates both their imagery and their rhythmic, celebratory defiance.

As the first preview of the forthcoming album, “Doombia Viene” suggests a work that will deepen the band’s cultural hybridity and Heavy Psychedelic approach. If future tracks maintain this blend of ritual groove, distorted riffs and socio-political nuance, Vol. 2 is poised to become one of the most distinctive underground releases of late 2025.
