Progressive Rock stalwarts HFMC are set to re-release their highly acclaimed sophomore album “Powerplay” on February 20, 2026, following years of being out of print. Originally released in 2012, “Powerplay” now returns in a fully remastered edition, featuring two live bonus tracks and new artwork, presented in a 2-panel digisleeve with an accompanying 12-page booklet.

HFMC’s Hasse reflects on the album’s creation:
“HFMC released our debut album Future Past in August 2010. By July 2011, we were back in the studio recording the follow-up, Powerplay, which originally launched in April 2012. This time, we collaborated with Tomas Bodin from The Flower Kings as co-producer. What began as a relaxed recording soon became intense due to tight deadlines. We had been invited to play two major festivals: Night Of The Prog in Loreley, Germany, and RoSfest in Gettysburg, USA, which accelerated the process. Powerplay allowed us to connect with fans on both sides of the Atlantic.”
The re-release answers long-standing fan demand, delivering remastered audio, live renditions of the fan favourites “Venice CA” and “White Butterfly,” and a refreshed visual presentation. This marks the first release in HFMC’s new partnership with FREIA Music, heralding an exciting chapter for the band.
Powerplay’s re-release is essential for long-time fans and newcomers alike, offering a refined listening experience and a renewed celebration of HFMC’s enduring Progressive Rock legacy.
