Musea Records have reissued Versailles‘ 1994 album, “Le Trésor De Vallièsres,” released on July 12, 2026 and available on Bandcamp
Versailles is a fascinating French band, led by the charismatic Guillaume De La Piliere. Their powerful Progressive Rock, rich in nuances and close to that of Ange, is characterized by the dramatic vocals and theatrical tone typical of Christian Decamps. Reaching full maturity since their debut album “La Cathédrale du Temps” (1990), the band has continued to refine their music, both technically and melodically, while preserving the spirit and sounds of Ange. No electronic drums or digital instruments here: analog reigns supreme! The concept album “Le Trésor de Vallièsres” (1994) showcases superb keyboards (including a Mellotron purchased from YES!) and plunges us even deeper into the atmosphere of the 1970s.
