German Progressive Rock band Cydonia have announced the release of their upcoming studio album, “Second Sight,” scheduled for launch on October 9, 2026. Following their 2022 release “Stations,” the Freiburg-based ensemble return with an eight-track collection exploring themes of darkness, faith, and parallel perspective.
Rooted in classic Progressive Rock traditions, Cydonia combine odd time signatures, spacey improvisations, and expansive melodic structures. “Second Sight” centers conceptually around existential reflection, examining moments of bitterness and hope while posing questions of passage into alternate dimensions.
The album was produced, mixed, and mastered by Jens Lueck at Art of Music Studio Garlstorf, who also contributes guest keyboards to the project. Primary tracking took place at Cydonia Studios in Freiburg, with drum sessions recorded by Markus Heinzel at Liquid Studio Freiburg and string sections captured at Art of Music Studio. Guest contributions include violin and viola from Katja Flintsch, violoncello by Annika Stolze, and spoken word passages by Ylva Roya Gutmann.
“Second Sight” will be available digitally, alongside a physical Compact Disc edition presented in a digipack with a 16-page lyric booklet.
