“A Prog Bible” is a concept album by ApoGod, a musical project born in July 2018 from an idea of the Sicilian duo consisting of Patrick Fisichella and Giovanni Puliafito. In front of a glass of wine and after the non-positive end of a previous experience, our people decide to build a Prog Metal reality based on their great experience as musicians and on a strong idea from a conceptual point of view: to set music to music. own personal view of the Old Testament. The choice of the moniker ApoGod is explained precisely because the work is based on a writing that can be considered “Apocryphal” because it interprets the Sacred Text in a free way, considering it as an epic, exciting, compelling and bloody poem, but also “Apostatic” precisely because of the ideas and orientations of the authors. Consequently, “APO” is also intended as an acronym for Another Point Of (view). A Prog Bible, focuses on the topics narrated in the first two books of the Old Testament/Torah: Genesis and Exodus. The technical contents of this work are remarkable, stemming from the important experiences matured by the two masterminds in the world of cinema and theater.
Puliafito graduated in composition, piano and music teaching at the Conservatorio Corelli di Messina, he obtained the Diploma of Merit at the Film Music Course at the Accademia Chigiana di Siena under the guidance of Maestro Louis Bacalov, he has won numerous awards and is author of various soundtracks for highly successful films. Above all I married my mother by Domenico Costanzo. Fisichella, also author of the lyrics of the album, in addition to having produced numerous CDs ranging from Jazz to Metal, to being a guitar teacher qualified by Yamaha for guitar courses and since 2013 the only official examiner for Sicily, has always been in the world of the theater as author of the music for various pièces. Among the many to which he has given an imprint, he has dealt with the Sound Design and live sound for the entire Italian tour of the show “My Name is Caino,” taken from a lyric by Claudio Fava and interpreted by the famous actor Ninni Bruschetta. “A Prog Bible” was presented on July 28, 2022 at 7.30 pm with a press conference that was held at the splendid Villa Cianciafara, a historic eighteenth-century residence located in Messina in Contrada Regia Corte, Zafferia.
