Dutch Progressive Metal Armed Cloud published the official video for the track “Safety Word” taken from new album “Nimbus” out on May 25, 2024 via Mey Productions. Watch the video through the YouTube player below:
The title βNimbusβ comes from heavy cloud formations called cumulonimbus β thunderous clouds in nature. Armed Cloud recorded their darkest and heaviest album yet with memorable melodies and a focus on brutal grooves, catchy choruses, and an adventurous, gritty spirit.
During the recording sessions, the band approached the songwriting process as a unit, forming the foundations of the album together in collaboration and unity. This approach resulted in the most coherent album to date, while still making way for Kayβs heartfelt guitar solos, the confident and powerful pounding of the drums by Rico, Borisβ crunchy and thundering bass, the ethereal and noise-laden analog keys by Remco, and Daanβs gritty and commanding vocals. As a special treat, Marcela Bovio of Stream of Passion and Ayreon fame honoured the band by lending her angelic vocals to the song βAngel of Frost.β
The main theme on the album is about overcoming the darkness of the past with healing through music. Therefore, the album deals with some of the more turbulent themes that have dominated society over the past few years, as well as personal darknesses that have plagued individual band members, all of it culminating in the title-trackβs message.
