Watch the latest teaser for their upcoming album below:
Seedy Jeezus is a Melbourne-based power trio known for their explosive fusion of 60s Psychedelic Rock and 70s Heavy riffage, creating a sound that’s both nostalgic and refreshingly modern. Described as “The Bearded Shamen of Riffology,” the band delivers expansive, high-energy live performances that have earned them a loyal following in the global underground Rock scene.
Formed by guitarist and vocalist Lex Waterreus, drummer Mark Sibson, and bassist Paul Crick, Seedy Jeezus embodies the raw power and spirit of the classic power trio format. With unrestrained fervor and a blazing delivery, the band continues to push the boundaries of Heavy Psychedelic Rock.
Jacopo Vigezzi of Progressive Rock Journal describes Seedy Jeezus as “an Australian band with sounds permeated by the atmosphere of the 1970s, reinterpreted in a modern key. They move between psychedelia, space rock, and a heavy touch given by stoner influences.”
JJ Koczan of The Obelisk adds, “Guitarist Lex Waterreus provides an entrée of sonic maelstrom, which rides on the back of a thundering, grinding Sabbath rhythm courtesy of drummer Mark Sibson and bassist Paul Crick, threatening to split your cerebral cortex into a thousand shimmering metal pieces.”
Critics and fans alike have lauded Seedy Jeezus for their authentic revival of classic Psychedelic and Heavy Rock sounds. Their live performances are known for their improvisational energy and deep sonic explorations – making each show a distinct journey.
New Release: “Damned To The Depths” (August 2025)
Set for release in August 2025, “Damned To The Depths” marks the next evolution in the Seedy Jeezus sound. Written and refined over three years, the album introduces decadent prog elements and multi-song suites that channel the influence of Animals-era Pink Floyd, In The Court Of The Crimson King-era King Crimson, and The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway-era Genesis.
Produced once again by Tony Reed (Mos Generator, Pentagram, Big Scenic Nowhere), who has helmed all of the band’s studio efforts, the album harnesses raw energy and emotional weight, exploring themes of death and the fragility of grief and loss. While it pushes sonic boundaries with 70s synths and Mellotron textures, it retains the signature Seedy punch – still heavy, still heady, and now even more heartfelt.
— Touring & Live Legacy —

They have toured New Zealand with Head Like A Hole and organised the ‘Under The Influence’ East Coast Tour of Australia with Isaiah Mitchell as his backing band, playing songs that inspired his playing and tone! They have basically played in every large city in Australia except Adelaide – playing with Earthless, Samsara Blues Experiment, Head Like A Hole, Greenleaf and Tumbleweed.
