Mastermind Carl Kernie said the following about “Slipstream” and the collaboration with Charlotte Wessels:
“When Slipstream began to take shape musically and I started thinking about what voice I wanted, I found myself longing for the energy and sincerity that Charlotte always brings to the songs she sings. I had the privilege of meeting her a few years ago while she was on tour in the US. When I shared the song with her, she was thrilled to collaborate and brought so much enthusiasm to the project. Working with her has been an inspiration. She is an incredible musician and friend.” – Carl
“Slipstream” is about the often challenging path one must take when dealing with a declining friendship. Such a transition can be both exhilarating and contemplative, often offering relief in equal measure to sorrow. Featuring expert vocalist Charlotte Wessels and supported by virtuoso guitarist Timo Somers and bassist Roman Engen, the song dives headlong into these diametrically opposed emotional experiences. Music and lyrics by Carl Kernie.
