2024 sees the return of Hollingshead, the Swedish Prog-Doom powerhouse. After the release of ”Stay Dead” in 2020, things went quiet. A global pandemic, an absent singer and life in general were reasons for the silence.
It would take three years before Hollingshead found a suitable vocalist. And found him they did. Singer/songwriter Tony Naima has several solo albums under his belt, as well as numerous tours with a plethora of artists, both as a sideman and as the main act.
Prior to finding Naima, Carl Westholm (organ, Carptree, Bakelit, ex-Avatarium, Abstrakt Algebra) Johan Niemann (bass, Evergrey) and Fredrik Haake (drums, Meldrum, Sideburn, God Is My Co-Pilot) hauled up in their countryside rehearsal space and worked on what would become a rebirth for the band.
Nine songs were conceived in this first batch of music for Naima to sink his teeth into and the result speaks for itself. Dark, atmospheric and brutally beautiful, this is the next branch on the tree of Hollingshead.
