Official Press release from Steve Feigenbaum:
I am currently working on a multi-disc box set by The Muffins, which is planned to include studio and live recordings from their entire history.
Nearly all of it will be previously unreleased.
It doesn’t have a name yet and is still being played around with in a lot of ways, but at this point, we have about 6-8 CDs worth from the 70s and 80s, as well as the entire Nearfest 2005 show on DVD, all of which the band has happily signed off on and which I am really pleased with and proud of.
I have not even begun to look at the 90s and 00s era, other than the NF show.
It will probably have a similar over-all esthetic to the Cuneiform Art Zoyd box.
The hope / plan is to have it out by the fall of 2022.

The official Cuneiform Records website describe the band:
“The finest progressive band that America produced.” – Fred Frith
It is an all-too-rare occurrence for a band, throughout its career, to create music that continually pushes the envelope and transforms the landscape. It is an even rarer occurrence for such a band to reunite after a long separation, and embark on a second musical career that proves as innovative as the first.
For The Muffins, lightning has struck twice.
