Umbersound stated regarding the new song:

‘My God, It’s Coming From The Ocean’ is a direct invocation of the Cthulhu mythos (H.P. Lovecraft). Devotion to the Old One. The follower seeks a connection, but what they receive in response is not comfort, but rather exposure to something transcendent that the human mind is incapable of handling.

Umbersound‘s upcoming album, “Tracks From The Slither”,,delves into psychological territories, exploring avoidance, inner decay, and the consequences of neglecting one’s inner self. Much of the album was recorded in a single take, prioritizing instinct over precision and allowing each moment to exist exactly as it was.

Tracks From The Slither” continues Umbersound‘s cycle of annual releases: each record evolves within the creative process while remaining firmly anchored in the Doom atmosphere that defines the project.

This time, the approach shifted toward a raw, analog methodology. Almost the entire album was recorded on tape, pushing saturation to the limit. The result is a loud, dirty, and heavily textured sound: an intentional choice against a cleaner digital production, in favor of something more abrasive. The record features greater sonic heaviness compared to previous releases, with more screamed vocals rather than clean ones. The tape recorder itself becomes an integral part of the album… the harmonic saturation shaping its character.

The sound evokes the feeling of discovering an old, lost reel buried in a vault: something unstable, almost cursed. This sense of an unearthed presence pervades the entire album. From a performance standpoint, “Tracks From The Slither” strips away all frills. Much of the material was recorded in a single take, prioritizing instinct over precision. The goal was not perfection, but spontaneity: fully committing to each individual moment, just as it occurred.
