Australian rockers Emergency Rule have announced the release of their ripping new single, Hollow Gold, the first taste of their forthcoming second album, Modern Day Villain.
The release follows the band’s critically acclaimed 2024 debut album The King of Ithaca, which earned rare perfect 10/10 scores from both Powerplay Rock & Metal Magazine and Metal Hammer Spain, firmly establishing Emergency Rule as one of Australia’s most exciting heavy rock exports.
Dark, riff-driven and unapologetically confrontational, Hollow Gold explores corruption, compromise and the price people pay to maintain power and status. Combining thunderous Sabbath-inspired grooves with sharp modern intensity, the track marks a heavier and more refined evolution in the band’s sound.

It’s Sabbath with attitude, it’s Down with a swagger, it’s Skynyrd with power. The bands laid back vibe is a smokescreen to the musicians earth shaking riffs. Bringing Heavy groove riffs, V8 styled booming bass lines and pounding room-quaking drums, Emergency Rule are a foot-stomping, head-banging Rock’n’Roll sensation. Whether it’s the deal with the devil “Snake Eyes” or the bar room barfly of “Bartender,” Emergency Rule are a good time, no-nonsense-Boogie-grooving infectious vibe. Pull up a chair, get a drink, roll that dice and watch out for Emergency Rule.
