French Progressive Metal band Hypnagone reveals details of new album “Qu’il Passe.”
French Progressive Metal band Hypnagone is proud to announce that their next album is called “Qu’il Passe” and will be released on October 14, 2022.
Antoine Duffour, the band’s founder, started composing “Qu’il Passe” in January 2017, following his studies at the MAI (Music Academy International in Nancy, France). The writing of the album took five years, after which the tracks were recorded twice for a better finish. Consisting of 11 tracks over 60 minutes, “Qu’il Passe” was mixed by the well-known George Lever (Sleep Token, Loathe, Monuments, etc.) and mastered by none other than Mike Kalajian (Machine Head, The Dear Hunter, Against The Current). The album is a cathartic work, linked to personal themes, in particular loneliness, feeling lost, without fixed points, before arriving at complete self-acceptance.
The artwork is a montage of various photographs taken by bassist (and main composer) Antoine Duffour, who is a great lover of ‘brutalism,’ that architectural style characterised by a massive use of concrete and very pronounced geometries. All this has a connection with the album’s theme, which is the story of a person waking up lost in an unknown world, where an abandoned city (represented by a concrete jungle) is surrounded by natural landscapes that extend as far as the eye can see. All this therefore represents the eternal battle between the natural and artificial worlds.
