Portland, Oregon based Grunge meets extraterrestrial Psychedelia act Ghost Frog published the official video for the track “Shadow Club” taken fromupcoming new album “Galactic Mini Golf” due out on November 05, 2024. Watch the video throughthe YouTube player below:

After many years spent in suspended animation following the launch of their last record “Astral Arcade” in 2020, the interstellar “heavy space grunge” troubadours known as Ghost Frog have finally awoken from their cryogenic slumbers.

Landing their starship back in Portland, OR, they will once again attempt to warn humanity of their eminent demise at the hands of a predatory race of interdimensional parasites. How? By beaming their idiosyncratic brand of paranormal Stoner Punk out to the brainwashed masses in a futile attempt to stir them out of their propaganda induced stupors.

Get ready to tee off with “Galactic Mini Golf,” their fourth full length LP which will be descending from the skies and abducting listeners’ minds to coincide with the upcoming American presidential (s)election on 11/5. A somewhat unusual choice for a release date perhaps, but one that feels appropriate given the prominent parapolitical themes of the record.

According to the lead singer of the band, Quinn Schwartz:

Much of the inspiration for the album came from when the lead guitarist Karl (Beheim) and I, the two main songwriters for the group, would occasionally get together to play golf (or attempt to, golf is hard!) while discussing current affairs throughout the early days of Covid, since golf courses were one of the few places that stayed open during that time. I would typically take a much more conspiratorial approach to analyzing the dizzying news of the day, as I’m often predisposed to doing, while Karl would sometimes push back on some of my more outlandish ideas by attempting to bring them back to Earth a bit (mostly unsuccessfully).

These discussions and the setting they took place in would later bleed into the subject matter of the music in the songwriting sessions that would follow. This resulted in a record that reflects the sense of constant confusion and suspicion those strange times provided (and continue to), and the struggle to try to make some sense of it all without completely losing your grip and getting sucked into in a black hole (in one) of never ending rabbit holes, a challenge almost as frustrating as the game of golf itself!
