Wicca333 are an Argentine power trio with several record releases under their belt including several split albums. Their style brings 70s Heavy Rock atmospheres into a modern context, proposing a Doom genre cpn Heavy Psych and Fuzz facets. The new EP entitled “Preaching Evil Ep.3” was released on August 17, 2024 and contains 3 tracks ranging from 3 to over 5 minutes in length. A massive guitar riff and a granitic rhythm section characterize the opener “Evil Lands.” The effects-enriched vocal is dynamic and fits perfectly into the musical context, an electric rush of Fuzz sounds, lead guitar interventions and Rock energy. A good start for this EP. Distorted guitar riffs open “Her Eyes,” a track that combines Heavy Psych sounds with forays into more Rock Doom and that dirty, scratchy sound. The distorted vocals are piercing and alternate well with the instrumental parts characterized by well-constructed riffs and good guitar work. The rhythm section is solid with a killer bassline, deep and driving, and in the finale the guitar offers short but intense solo cues. The EP’s longest track “Kind of Death” concludes the tracklist, showing a more Doom side of the band’s sound. Massive guitar riffs, a granitic rhythm section and distinctive vocals characterize this energetic and powerful track, steeped in fuzz sounds and distortion modulated to perfection. Dark and occult atmospheres permeate the track, evolving the central theme of the song and accompanying us with an electric rush to the finale of this good record. A band that confirms the good things heard previously, offering three well-constructed and energy-laden tracks. A rush of fuzz sounds, granitic rhythm sections, dynamic vocal parts and those occult atmospheres that characterize their style. A good EP, absolutely recommended to all lovers of modern Rock sounds with forays into Doom Rock and Heavy Psych.
