Formed in 2022, Gnarwhal have been carving out a distinct voice in Canada’s heavy underground. Their 2023 self-titled debut album earned a Western Canadian Music Award nomination, while 2024’s “Altered States” EP pushed their sound into spacier, Experimental territory without losing the low-end punch and emotional weight that defines their music. DIY to the core, the band has toured extensively across Canada, transforming basements, bars, and proper stages into sweat-soaked sonic assaults.
“Wherewithal” marks the first glimpse of Gnarwhal’s forthcoming sophomore full-length, due in March 2026, an album that promises to be even heavier, sharper, and more unapologetically their own.
