Information:
In medicine, the increase in tissue tension above the physiological norm is called Hypertonus – in music, the name Hypertonus stands for a band that blurs genre boundaries in their sound.

Hypertonus is an Instrumental Rock band hailing from Bremen (Germany) that has been creating high-energy soundscapes since 2011. Like so many instrumental bands they are often quickly relegated to Post-Rock, but the trio’s music is clearly rooted in the ideas of 70s Progressive Rock. From where they then develop their own path between a dry funk sound and the echoing Space Rock of modern times.

After a first EP released in 2013, the debut album “Tidal Wave” was released in 2017 which was followed by joint concerts with bands such as Toundra, 1000Mods, The Hirsch Effekt and Mother’s Cake. On October 18, 2024, the new album “Gravity Unmapped” will be released as a digital version. Recorded live over four days with Hanno Janßen at Dickfehler Studio in Aurich, Janßen was also responsible for the mixing. Eike Ebbel Groenewold handled the mastering at Klangfeld Studios. With “Gravity UnmappedHypertonus are on their way to immersing a new audience in their cosmos.
